Angel Roman was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He studied music at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and continued his education at Berklee College of Music.

Roman moved to Florida for studio work with Grammy-winning and Emmy-nominated music producer/composer Joel Someillan. Roman was also a first call sideman for visiting artists from Puerto Rico and South America who toured the U.S.

A month before moving to Nashville, Angel received a call to do several performances with famed musician Colonial Bruce Hampton.

While on a visit to Nashville, Roman was offered a job with Henry Murphy and the Seahawks. The band was the house band for a new entertainment venue called The Tin Roof, a destination for many well-known artists, actors, and sports figures.

Apart from his weekend duties as house band, Mr. Roman also performed with Country singer Lari White, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra from the 2009 TV show The Next Great American Band, did studio work for Stan Lynch (Tom Petty), Andrew Copeland (Sister Hazel), Producer David Malloy (Kenny Rogers), Songwriter Tim Johnson (cuts with Diamond Rio), Grammy Award winner Robert Battaglia (Bela Fleck), Songwriter Steve Mandel (cuts for Tim McGraw), and Songwriter Randy Boudreaux (cuts for Joe Nichols).

Currently living in Austin Texas, Roman performs in a variety of live venues. His current primary focus is his own band
Mambo Blue, as well as composing for future projects outside of the Afro Latin Jazz idiom.
